The two Central Railway engineers booked by the Government Railway Police (GRP) for alleged negligence causing the June 9 Mumbra train accident have approached the Bombay High Court, after their anticipatory bail pleas were rejected by the Thane sessions court last week.
Assistant divisional engineer Vishal Dolas and senior section engineer Samar Yadav, who were allegedly in charge of maintenance of the tracks, filed the anticipatory bail pleas this week, citing an internal report of a committee comprising five senior railway officials, who found that there were no lapses on their part.
They reiterated their claim made before the Thane court that about 200 trains had passed the same railway tracks before and after the incident at the same speed, claiming that this falsified the alleg
