Martin O'Neill has revealed there was a "bit of shock" from Michael Nicholson and Peter Lawwell after the Celtic AGM was abandoned.

The meeting was halted after just five minutes following booing and disruption from some of those inside the room at Celtic Park .

After a 30-minute delay, the meeting was restarted but was quickly cancelled following an earlier protest against the board.

Interim Celtic boss O'Neill has revealed he got the impression Nicholson and Lawwell were shocked by the situation, but had expected a bit of a "tough time".

He said: "Well, we had a little cup of tea in the boardroom afterwards.

"I think there was just probably, I think they were expecting a tough time, but I think there was a bit of shock as well."
