If there was an award for courage and honor in politics, it should go to a stalwart band of Republicans in the Indiana state Senate who have resisted enormous pressure from President Trump and rejected his egregious efforts to rig next year's elections.
Democrats now hold two of Indiana's nine congressional seats. Trump and his toadies have been demanding new maps that would make any Democratic victories nearly impossible, but so many Republicans have rebelled that Senate leader Rodric Bray announced recently that "there are not enough votes to move that idea forward" and canceled a December session to draw new districts.
