University of Alaska Fairbanks Interim Chancellor Mike Sfraga hosted a forum with other UA officials to discuss the university’s budget, where money comes from, how it’s distributed and the state and federal funding landscape.

The forum was held Thursday in person at UAF and online where it is recorded .

When he first took the interim chancellor position, the budget was a big topic on Sfraga’s mind. At convocation in early September, the top of his list of priorities was to manage and navigate budget challenges for the university, and once he got settled, communicate that information.

“I want folks to leave this room, click off line and say okay now I have an understanding of where the university gets its money,’” Sfraga said.
