HARPER, Texas — A Central Texas school district is closed Friday after a lightning strike is limiting its access to several services.
According to a social media post from Harper ISD, the district won't hold classes on Nov. 21 after lightning hit an Aqua Texas pump and well.
The district said the pump cut out water and septic services to the school, which will be closed until the issue is fixed.
“Unfortunately, we will be unable to hold classes, not knowing when the issue will be taken care of,” the post stated Thursday night.
Harper ISD is closed next week from Nov. 24 to Nov. 28 for Thanksgiving break, according to the district calendar. The district is located in Harper, Texas, roughly 23 miles west of Fredericksburg.
