TUCSON, Ariz. (13 News) - The prospect of an aluminum recycling plant coming to Benson has some people worried about what else might be on the way.

Residents and the city’s planning and zoning commission discussed the possibility of more heavy industries, including a concrete batch plant, coming to Benson.

“Do we really want Benson to be an industrial town?” one resident asked the board Thursday night.

That was the question at the heart of the planning and zoning committee meeting, with a packed house of people showing their concern.

“I think the proof is in the pudding. You see, there’s a ton of people standing room only here,” Co-founder of Health Over Wealth Benson Misty Bloom said.
