LANSING, Mich. (WILX) - Governor Gretchen Whitmer and the Michigan Economic Development Corporation (MEDC) have announced a new redevelopment project that will bring 15 housing units and nearly 6,900 square feet of commercial space to Downtown Lansing.

Backed by the bipartisan Revitalization and Placemaking (RAP) program, the project aims to increase affordable housing options for essential workers, including teachers, police officers, and state employees.

The new housing and retail space will be located in Lansing’s Stadium District on the 600 block of Michigan Avenue.

The development will replace three functionally obsolete two-story buildings, generating more than $7.2 million in total investment.
