COLUMBUS, Ohio — Jurors reached a verdict in the murder trial of a Blendon Township police officer charged in the fatal shooting of 21-year-old Ta'Kiya Young.

The jury found Grubb not guilty on all six charges he was facing, which included two counts of felonious assault, two counts of murder and two counts of involuntary manslaughter.

The prosecution and defense both rested on Tuesday after a roughly two-week trial. Prosecutors have told jurors that Young wasn’t a threat to anyone at the time she was shot. Defense attorneys for officer Connor Grubb have emphasized that Young's vehicle carried deadly force when she accelerated it near him, rendering his use of force within the standard of being “objectively reasonable.”
