The New York Mets traded for Cedric Mullins at the trade deadline to try to help solve their woes in the outfield. However, Mullins was not great and is now a free agent.
The Mets' hole in center field still remains. Juan Soto and Brandon Nimmo are expected to occupy two of the outfield spots. The Mets have some other internal options, but none that have proven they can be stars. Bleacher Report's Zachary D. Rymer predicted the Mets would fix their outfield by trading for Byron Buxton of the Minnesota Twins.
