The Montana State men’s basketball team opened play in the Battle at the Beach with a 92-55 win over Nobel behind career-high scoring performances by Christian King and Waka Mbatch at the Gold Mine on the campus of Long Beach State on Thursday.

King matched a career-high 14 points for the third time this season, while Mbatch added 13 for the first double-digit scoring performance of his career.

The Bobcats led wire to wire in the neutral-site contest, shooting 59.6% from the field while limiting Nobel to 40%. Montana State’s bench tallied 41 points, and the Bobcats scored 31 points off turnovers.
