COLUMBUS, Ohio (WTVG) — Ohio lawmakers are dedicating $40 million to help first responders dealing with post-traumatic stress injuries.
The money will be available to police officers, firefighters, EMTs and other first responders. It doesn’t matter if they’re full-time employees or volunteers.
Ohio’s largest police and firefighter unions pushed for the legislation, which is heading to the governor for his signature.
Details still need finalized about how the money will be spent.
