DECORAH, Iowa — The City of Decorah has received a $1 million Community Attraction and Tourism (CAT) grant from the Iowa Economic Development Authority to help build the Decorah Athletic Complex.
City Manager Travis Goedken highlighted the community's role in the project. "None of this would have been possible at the level we’re delivering without the incredible generosity of our local, private donors who contributed more than $1.5 million," Goedken said.
With the CAT grant, only $128,000 remains to be raised to fully fund the project.
Mayor Lorraine Borowski emphasized the grant's local impact. "Being awarded the CAT grant means real taxpayer dollars are coming back to our area to serve our kids and benefit local businesses," Borowski said.
