Bengaluru, Nov 21: In a major relief to vehicle users across the state, the Karnataka government has once again announced a 50% rebate on pending traffic violation fines. The state had earlier implemented a similar rebate scheme, which generated crores of rupees in revenue.
On Wednesday, Rangappa Karigar, deputy secretary of the transport department, issued an official order bringing the rebate back into effect. After reviewing the proposal submitted by the transport department, the government approved it and directed immediate implementation.
As per the order, the 50% rebate scheme will be effective from November 21 and will remain in force until December 12. Motorists can clear their pending fines at half the amount during this period.
