BEREA — There was a massive absence on the practice field for the Browns two days before they play at the Las Vegas Raiders .

All-Pro defensive end Myles Garrett was absent from practice due to an illness. The Browns will announce game statuses for the Raiders game shortly after practice ends at 1 p.m.

Garrett's absence overshadowed multiple players returning to practice. That included quarterback Dillon Gabriel (concussion) and tight end David Njoku (knee). Buy Cleveland Browns tickets

Gabriel's return does not mean he'll be cleared from the concussion protocol in time to travel with the team to Las Vegas on Saturday. If he can't clear protocol, Bailey Zappe will be elevated from the practice squad to be the backup.
