Hyundai unveiled a rugged SUV it’s calling the Crater Concept along with two performance cars during the first day of the LA Auto Show , Thursday, Nov. 20.
The Crater Concept, said to take inspiration for its green-gold matte exterior color from California’s coastal terrain, rolled onto the stage at the Los Angeles Convention Center in front of a sizable crowd of journalists and others.
The SUV promises a functional roll cage inside the cabin, a large skid plate for protection underneath and big wheels and tires, 18 and 33 inches, respectively. When or if this vehicle gets produced wasn’t clear, but Hyundai’s showing that it intends to push the envelope on off-road design.
