Sort of a glass-half-full/glass-half-empty kind of day. It’s Friday, but it’s grey and a weekend of significant rain is ahead. The Whitecaps have a massive sold-out playoff game Saturday, the Canucks are off until Sunday.

So yeah, today is kind of like this Canucks season, some good, more bad, slivers of hope, shivs of disappointment.

Thursday at Rogers Arena was more of the same. They played quite well against one of the NHL’s elite teams, but in the end are left with nothing but a moral victory, which counts for nothing in the standings. Ben Kuzma graded the players in our report card feature.

The loss came despite another solid effort, and another goal (his seventh of the season) from Elias Pettersson.
