Twins trade for former No. 6 overall pick
The Minnesota Twins made a trade Friday to acquire a player whose name once came with a lot more shine.
The newest member of the Twins' organization is catcher Alex Jackson. Minnesota got him in a trade with the Baltimore Orioles for minor league infielder Peyton Eagles, according to MASN's Roch Kubatko .
Jackson was the No. 6 overall pick in the 2014 MLB Draft by the Seattle Mariners out of a San Diego-area high school.
But in the dozen years since, Jackson has never quite panned out. He'll turn 30 on Christmas, and he's a .153 career hitter at the MLB level.
There is good news about Jackson, though. In 2025, he had a more productive MLB season. He hit .220 with five home runs in 91 at bats. His Wins Above Repl
