But these poor souls were forced to ‘dig their way out’ of a wedding venue after they became snowed in.
Guests who had driven to the wedding at Raven Hall near Scarborough had to abandon cars after the freezing weather conditions took a turn for the worse on Wednesday night.
Mark Dalton, who attended with his family, said around 40 percent of those who hadn’t booked a room were left snowed in the next morning. This was only the beginning of the ‘most eventful wedding’ he’d been to.
There was no let up the next morning. Tired, freezing and hungover, guests were put into a convoy of ten cars that were ‘completely stuck’ by snow.
