Srinagar, Nov 21: Awami Itihaad Party (AIP) has expressed profound grief over the passing of Mushtaq Ahmad Sheikh, the young cousin brother of incarcerated MP Baramulla Er Rashid and MLA Langate Sheikh Khursheed.

The deceased, a resident of Mawer Payeen, passed away this afternoon at SKIMS, AIP Chief Spokesperson Inam Un Nabi said in a statement issued here.

He said the news has “deeply shaken the entire AIP family”, describing the loss as personal and painful for both leaders. “Mushtaq Sahib’s passing is an immense tragedy. In this hour of sorrow, our thoughts, prayers and solidarity are with Er Rashid Sahib and Sheikh Khursheed Sahib’s entire family,” Inam added.
