CLARKSBURG, W.Va. — City Parks of Clarksburg has begun managing the pool of the YMCA of North Central West Virginia which recently closed and which is now owned by the Clarksburg Land Reuse Agency. But, opening the rest of the facility is not yet possible.

Opening the weight lifting room or the gymnasium at the Y would take more staff and more funding than the CPoC, an autonomous department of the city, currently has at its disposal.

"The city manager [Tiffany Fell] has asked us about finding people to help out if they go down the route of opening it up for other activities," said Parks Superintendent Doug Comer. But, "we're just in a situation where the parks department can't take on some of the other things."
