Jammu, Nov 21: Two newly elected legislators from Budgam and Nagrota constituencies were sworn in on Friday at the Assembly complex in Jammu. Speaker Abdul Rahim Rather administered the oath of office to PDP’s Muntazir Mehdi and BJP’s Devyani Rana.

Pertinent to mention, Aga Syed Muntazir Mehdi, contesting from the Budgam seat on a PDP ticket, secured 21,576 votes, defeating National Conference (NC) candidate Aga Syed Mahmood Al-Mosavi, who pulled 17,098 votes . Mehdi won by a margin of 4,478 votes, marking a significant victory for PDP in a constituency where the party had historically struggled.
