SWAIN COUNTY, N.C. ( WHNS /Gray News) – A woman in North Carolina called 911 to report a bald eagle dropped a cat through her windshield as she was driving on the highway.
“You may not believe me,” the woman told the dispatcher. “But I just had a bald eagle drop a cat through my windshield. And it absolutely shattered my windshield.”
“I do believe you, honestly,” the dispatcher replied.
The woman went on to say someone else even witnessed what happened.
“He’s like, ‘that is the craziest thing I’ve ever seen!’” the driver told the 911 operator.
The woman was driving on US 74 in Swain County on Thursday around 8:15 a.m. when the bird dropped the cat, officials with the North Carolina Highway Patrol said.
According to troopers, the driver was not hurt, but the cat did not survive.
