GREENSBORO, N.C. — A Guilford County Schools student is facing legal consequences after police say they brought an unloaded gun to Morehead Elementary School on Thursday.
Guilford County Schools says staff secured the gun without incident. No one was harmed, but the unidentified student was reprimanded.
Families were notified by the school's principal on Nov. 20.
“We want to remind adults with children at home about the importance and legal responsibility of properly storing firearms,” said Assistant Chief Ric Alston of the Greensboro Police Department. “Too much is at stake when you don’t.”
