Tensions ran high during the Lake Quinsigamond Commission’s Nov. 19 meeting as skiers and rowers on the lake accused each other of being unsafe.

The four-mile-long lake between Worcester and Shrewsbury is used by both rowers and those who water ski, who also are known as “towers.”

Christine Francoeur, a member of the tower community from Shrewsbury, told the board that some rowers haven’t been following rules set by the Quinsigamond Rowing Association, such as staying close to the Shrewsbury Shore when traveling north and staying close to the Worcester shore when traveling south.
