Wing Commander Namansh Syal , a seasoned pilot of the Indian Air Force (IAF), was killed on Friday when the home-grown HAL Tejas fighter jet he was flying crashed during a demonstration at the Dubai Airshow. The accident occurred at around 2.15 pm local time (10.15 GMT) at the Al Maktoum International Airport while the aircraft was performing an aerobatic manoeuvre as part of the show.
