LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — A Little Rock man will be spending the rest of his life in prison after he gave a man fentanyl pills that led to his death.

Officials with the United States Attorney's Eastern District of Arkansas stated that after a four-day trial, a jury convicted 43-year-old Arthur Joyner of distribution of fentanyl resulting in death on Thursday.

A federal grand jury indicted Joyner on the charge on March 5, 2024. Because of his prior criminal record, Joyner is facing a mandatory sentence of life imprisonment.

District Judge Brian S. Miller will sentence Joyner at a later date.

Evidence presented at the trial showed that on October 13, 2023, an acquaintance of Joyner had asked him for oxycodone pills because he had injured his back while working.
