WATERTOWN, New York (WWNY) - One more step stands between Watertown and its city hall renovations.

Though a motion to discuss bonding for the roughly $7 million project was shut down by Council Member Cliff Olney, City Manager Eric Wagenaar says it doesn’t mean the bonding itself was shot down.

The resolution will likely come up at the city council’s December 1st meeting, where it will only need 4 out of 5 council members’ approval.

The project, which includes security upgrades and major courtroom renovations, has been in the works for years.

“75% of it is actually down in the courtroom area and the office spaces, and bringing those up to speed, up to code. There’s this New York State Unified Court standards for all of their courtrooms. It does not meet those standards,” said Watertown
