MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) - A Memphis man is facing numerous charges for allegedly leading a state trooper on a chase following an attempt to pull him over for a headlight outage.

Cortney Currie, 37, is facing multiple misdemeanor and felony charges.

According to the arrest affidavit, at 5:58 p.m. Thursday, a state trooper saw a white Toyota Camry with a headlight out driving in Oakville near the airport.

The driver reportedly evaded the trooper’s attempt at a traffic stop, running multiple red lights, stop signs, and almost striking other vehicles in the process.

The driver continued to evade the trooper for 10 minutes, according to the affidavit, before bailing from the car in a neighborhood off Shelby Drive and jumping a fence.
