AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) - Community organizations across the CSRA are preparing for what could be their largest Thanksgiving events yet.

Multiple groups are reporting increased demand for free meals and assistance.

T.W. Josey High School’s Class of 1994 is preparing for its 16th annual community Thanksgiving event, which served up to 4,000 people last year. Organizers expect even larger crowds this year.

“This year, with everything that’s going on, the shutdown ... it’s affected a lot of people. So I’m really thinking that we’re gonna have even a bigger crowd,” said Shonta Bradley, a member of the T.W. Josey Class of 1994.
