NORTH PLATTE, Neb. (KNOP) - Tyson Foods announced plans to close one of its largest beef-processing plants in Nebraska.
In a press release , the company said it will end operations at the plant in Lexington and convert its Amarillo, Texas beef facility to a single, full-capacity shift.
Employees in Lexington were notified via a letter that News 2 obtained, where the company said its planning to cease certain operations and that positions will be eliminated as part of a mass layoff.
The Lexington plant currently employs close to 3,000 workers.
