A Mansura man will be sentenced to life in prison in late January after he pleaded guilty to a 2022 carjacking and confessed to killing rideshare driver Ella Goodie.

Brandon Jermaine Francisco, 39, pleaded guilty to a charge of carjacking resulting in death on Nov. 13. He is to be sentenced on Jan. 27, 2026, but he agreed to a life sentence in his plea agreement.

Goodie's body never has been found, but the agreement reveals details about how she died.

It states the Goodie, who drove for both Uber and Lyft, was contacted by Francisco around March 8 because he believed his bond was going to be revoked at a 9th Judicial District Court hearing on an attempted murder charge set for the next day in Alexandria.

He wanted Goodie to drive him to St. Joseph, Missouri, where Francisco had friends
