BUCHANAN, Mich. (WNDU) - An overcast day did nothing to dampen a big day in Buchanan.

The city held a ribbon cutting celebration on Friday for its highly- touted downtown project.

We found out the big stuff is done, while Streetscape Furniture and other icing will be added to the cake in the spring.

We were in downtown Buchanan, where the reconstruction project finally came to an end.

At the ribbon-cutting ceremony this morning the people shared some excitement, relief, and hope.

The day people in Bucktown have been waiting for has finally come.

Hundreds of people gathered in Buchanan this morning for the ribbon cutting ceremony to celebrate the reopening of the downtown area.

The $20 million project kicked off in spring this year.
