ROCHESTER, Minn. (KTTC) – Convicted killer Margot Lewis will not face an additional charge of interference with a dead body in Olmsted County in the wake of her decades-long prison sentence handed down in Hennepin County.
The Olmsted County Attorney’s Office said in a statement Friday, “because justice has been achieved in the Hennepin County case, we have determined that it is in the public interest to dismiss the additional Olmsted County charge. We commend our law enforcement and prosecution colleagues across multiple jurisdictions for their admirable work in this case”.
Lewis will spend 40 years in prison for the murder of Liara Tsai. Tsai was killed in June 2024 after Lewis stabbed her to death inside her Minneapolis apartment.
Lewis then reportedly crashed the car she was driving
