CALIFORNIA – A Superman comic book has set a new auction record after selling for over $9 million. Superman number one from 1939 was sold by Heritage Auction on Thursday.
The comic was discovered last year by three brothers while they were cleaning out their late mother's attic in California. Despite being protected only by old newspapers, the comic book scored a nine out of 10 for its condition.
This final sale price has made it the most expensive comic book ever sold at auction.
