The precipitous demise of former would-be Blue Jays ace took another hit on Friday when the Atlanta Braves walked away from pitcher Alek Manoah.
The Braves, who claimed Manoah off of waivers after the Jays released him in the summer, opted not to offer the 27-year-old a contract which propelled the former all-star to free agency.
Manoah, a first-round pick by the Jays in 2019, was well on his way towards being a key arm in the rotation before his career took a downturn.
