SINGAPORE – A well-known artificial intelligence plush toy, the Kumma Bear, has been removed from shelves following reports of inappropriate content.
Researchers discovered that the toy, developed by Singapore-based Toy company FoloToy, discussed sexually explicit topics and provided hazardous advice.
Larry Wang, CEO of FoloToy, confirmed the company's decision to halt sales of the Kumma Bear along with other AI toys. This action followed a report by the US PIRG Education Fund highlighting the toy's troubling discussions on sexual fetishes and instructions on lighting matches.
Wang said, "We are currently conducting an internal audit to address these concerns."
OpenAI has also taken action by suspending the developer for policy violations.
