A former Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff's Office deputy is behind bars after allegedly showing inappropriate pictures to children during a security detail, TPSO said Friday.

Michael Craig Johnson, 61, was booked into the Tangipahoa Parish Jail at around 5 p.m. Friday on four counts of indecent behavior with a juvenile and one count of malfeasance in office, jail records show.

The four-year TPSO veteran had been placed on administrative leave during the investigation, then fired and arrested, TPSO said. The investigation is ongoing.
