To characterise Carlton’s improvement in 2025 as anything but meteoric would be an understatement.
Last year, the Blues finished 14th on the ladder. This year, they secured fifth spot, have won two finals in rampaging fashion and will face the Brisbane Lions in a preliminary final on Saturday at Brighton Homes Arena.
They have played excellent footy this year, boosted by a crop of young, extroverted talent with infectious passion.
More importantly, they’re having fun.
Before every game, the team performs a dance and sings Australia’s unofficial national anthem – Untouched by the Veronicas – to ease pre-game nerves. The dancing was initially inspired by lessons from Yasmin Duursma’s mum Susie, who runs a dance studio.
