STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — A few New York City events are scheduled to result in road closures over the course of the coming week.

Among those events is the festive return of the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, which will see residents and tourists alike enjoy the sights and sounds of the holiday season.

The events in the days ahead could contribute to traffic, which is already heightened given the time of year. The city is officially under a holiday season gridlock alert from Nov. 19 through Jan. 2, 2026.

As noted in an advisory from the NYPD, the closures will be at the discretion of police.
