GOLDSBORO, N.C. (WITN) - Ahead of Thanksgiving, Governor Josh Stein and First Lady Anna Stein visited the Seymour-Johnson Air Force Base, serving food to Air Force members one by one to recognize how they serve our country every day.
“They, on behalf of us, on behalf of this country, have said, I’m willing to serve. I’m willing to be shipped across the world. I’m willing to put myself at personal risk because of an idea, which is this country,” Stein says.
The smell of turkey, mashed potatoes, and other Thanksgiving favorites filled the room as the couple joined in on a “Friendsgiving” meal alongside military members.
“We’re so blessed to have the governor and Mrs. Stein with us,” Colonel Morgan Lohse said. “We’re excited that they had an opportunity to have lunch and serve our airman,
