Brandon Aiyuk’s time in San Francisco appears to be coming to an end.

Just a year after signing a four-year, $120 million extension, the superstar wide receiver and the 49ers are laying the groundwork to part ways, Dianna Russini and Michael Silver of The Athletic reported on Friday.

The 49ers reportedly voided the 2026 guarantees in Aiyuk’s contract after he missed team meetings and declined to participate in team activities while recovering from an ACL, MCL and meniscus tear he suffered last year in a game against the Kansas City Chiefs. Russini and Silver report that Aiyuk instructed the NFLPA not to appeal the voided guarantees. He reportedly was set to earn $24.935 in an option bonus and a $1.215 million base salary for the 2026 season, as well as a $100,000 workout bonus and roster
