RENO, Nev. (KOLO) -It’s all hands-on deck here at the Nevada Woodchuck’s workshop.
There’s hammering, cutting, sanding, gluing, and painting.
These are all volunteers, intent on making Christmas a little more special for needy kids.
They started their literal handy work last January---now it’s time for the finishing touches.
“At the beginning of the year there’s no wheel to be made,” says Doric Caron who comes to the workshop with his wife Kathleen. “So, we learn how to work on the skill saw then we work on the router, and we work on the drilling machine. We’ve had a chance to do all these for years. It’s just really fun.”
Some Woodchucks have a long history and passion for work working.
For others it is a newly developed hobby. Those who join can learn all aspects of this craft. And
