Ottawa police are asking for the public's help in identifying a suspect involved in a break-in at a downtown hotel. The incident occurred in the early hours of September 29. According to a social media release from police on November 21, the break-and-enter took place in the 100 block of Kent Street. Security cameras captured footage of the suspect entering the hotel’s stock room around 3:39 a.m. The suspect reportedly stole various electronics before fleeing the scene. He is described as a tall Caucasian male with a thin build, estimated to be between 25 and 40 years old. At the time of the incident, he was wearing a black tuque, a black jacket over a dark T-shirt with white-and-red writing, dark pants, and black-and-white shoes. Authorities are urging anyone with information about the suspect to contact the Ottawa Police Service West Division break-and-enter unit at 613-236-1222, extension 4533. Additionally, anonymous tips can be submitted to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 or through their website. Police continue to investigate the incident and are seeking any leads that could assist in identifying the suspect.
