The League of Women Voters of the Cooperstown Area has some ideas to help people reduce waste during the upcoming holiday season.

According to a news release from the organization, plastic containers tossed in recycling bins are likely not recycled. “Only about 6% of all plastic waste is ever recycled. The rest is incinerated or goes into landfills and ends up polluting the environment,” the release stated. “What can communities do to decrease this waste?”
