The University of Hawaii football team needs to win its final two games of the regular season to have any hope of qualifying for the Mountain West Conference championship game.
Tonight’s matchup against UNLV at Allegiant Stadium is essentally a knockout game for the loser. Hawaii (7-3, 4-2 Mountain West) and UNLV (8-2, 4-2) are two of the five two-loss teams in conference play looking up at first-place San Diego State, which suffered its only MWC loss to Hawaii two weeks ago, 38-6.
The Rainbow Warriors and Rebels will meet for the 35th time in a series that began in 1969. UH leads the all-time series, 19-15, however UNLV holds an 11-6 advantage in games played in Las Vegas.
