Liverpool’s June Piorkowski said her junior campaign overall went better than expected.
That notion transferred over to Friday’s New York State diving championship meet at the Webster Aquatic Center.
Piorkowski was hoping for a top-10 finish this year after she placed 11th at last season’s state meet. The Legends’ standout score of 485.15 led to a third-place finish at the meet.
“I feel pretty good about where I finished,” Piorkowski said. “I was in third the whole time, so I felt pretty consistent with my dives.”
Manhasset’s Victoria Wang placed first with a score of 526.30.
One thing Piorkowski was able to focus on was the task at hand, something that allowed her to compile an efficient season.
