FARGO — For one, it’s not easy for North Dakota State to get recognizable Division I women’s basketball opponents like Tulane to come to Fargo. For two, taking advantage is another matter.

In one of the more impressive nonconference wins in Jory Collins’ head coaching tenure, the Bison survived a fourth-quarter push by the Green Wave, steadied the ship to take an 83-72 victory at Scheels Center at Sanford Health Athletic Complex.

It wasn’t just an Avery Koenen-dominated game by the Bison either, with most of the lineup taking turns with scoring bursts. Koenen had 22 points and 13 rebounds, but guard Marisa Frost was all over the map with 19 points with four Bison reaching double figures.

“It felt good to get in a rhythm, hope it carries over,” Frost said.
