A manhunt is underway after arsonists torched three cars in a brazen firebombing on a suburban Sydney street on Friday night, threatening nearby homes and alarming residents.
Emergency services were called to Evans Street at San Souci around 10.45pm on Friday following reports three vehicles had been set alight in a suspicious fire.
Officers attached to St George Police Area Command attended the scene and Fire and Rescue NSW extinguished the blazes.
Sans Souci resident John Leondis was in the front yard of his home when he heard a “great thud”, before a fireball exploded over his neighbour’s roof.
“I didn’t see anybody, and I was one of the first ones out there. I immediately got my phone and started recording,” he said.
