COLUMBUS, Ohio — House Republicans voted to pass the “Baby Olivia Act” which would require school districts in Ohio to show students an animated video of the development of a fetus from fertilization until birth.
Zero democrats voted in support of the bill.
The three-minute “Baby Olivia” video was produced by Live Action, a national anti-abortion organization.
The bill, which now goes to the Ohio Senate for consideration, also requires schools to show a video at least three minutes long of an ultrasound video that shows the vital organs being formed to students in fifth grade through high school.
Representative Melanie Miller, R-District 67, spearheaded the legislation.
