MCLAUGHLIN, S.D. (Dakota News Now) - This weekend was the first without high school football in a few months, and reflecting on another memorable season, the McLaughlin Mustangs say their All-Nations Conference title this year meant everything to a hurting community.
McLaughlin’s football team featured plenty of returning players and a tight-knit group. Their bond only deepened when a former teammate went missing in March.
The magical ride to the title game was done in honor of their brother, cousin, and friend.
Anyone from the area will tell you that McLaughlin, South Dakota is all about family.
In March, the community discovered their son, brother, cousin, and friend, Renzo Bull Head, went missing. His former teammate, John Eagle Jr., recalled when he knew something was wrong.
